Last Week with Elder Yerén, New Companion, Elder Santana

This was Elder May's last week with his companion, Elder Yerén.  Elder Yerén has finished his mission and is going home!

May 26, 2019, the night before transfers, the ward was saying Goodbye to Elder Yerén

Here are Elder May and Elder Yerén with Elder Kaas and Elder Miller, who are the other companionship in his ward.  They had a little time before lunch and had some fun taking pictures on the roof.

When I saw this picture, I asked him how he was able to take it.  He said he uses the timer feature!  I didn't even realize he was using it before, but he says that's how he gets all those group pictures of his district.  I'm so glad he's tech-savvy!

Miracles in Bolivia!

Well, it's been a little while since I've sent an email, but it's been pretty event filled! We have lots of new investigators right now, who are progressing rapidly. One of the coolest experiences I've had on my mission so far happened a week ago. We were tracting down a street and passed a house, and walked almost until the end of the street, when we felt that we needed to turn back and contact that house. We knocked on the door, and a little girl answered, we asked if her parents were around because we wanted to share a message with them. She went inside and came back like 30 seconds later saying that we could enter. She took us to dark room where we saw her Mom lying on a bed. It was obvious that she was very sick, but was still willing to listen to us. We offered to give her a blessing, and she allowed us to do so. The Spirit was very strong throughout afterwards, she was able to sit up and talk to us and we invited her and her family to go with us to church on Sunday. We passed by on Sunday Morning and the mother looked perfectly healthy, strengthening my testimony of priesthood blessings. They all enjoyed church and we set an appointment for Tuesday. We passed by on Tuesday and learned the other part of the story. The Mom told us that she had had a dream before we passed by that two angels would pass by her house and show her a new path in her life. After she had that dream, we had passed her house, came back, and then her daughter had answered the door, immediately knowing that we were the angels her mother had talked about. Words can't describe how good it felt to realize I was the answer to a humble prayer and answer to another daughter of God. I know that prayer has power, and if we are always attentive to the Spirit, we will know how we can help others, even if in the moment, we don't understand everything. I didn't know at first why I needed to knock on the door of that family, but I found out afterwards that I was the answer to their prayer. This church is true, I have no doubt about it, and I know that Jesus Christ is at its head. Through him, the work of salvation is progressing rapidly.

Love,
Elder May
