Last Week with Elder Murphy and Tyra, waiting on new companion Elder Rivero

There has been a little shuffling around of companions, and Elder May has been in a trio with two companions since Thursday.  When we spoke today, he was waiting for his new companion, Elder Rivero, who was traveling to Bermejo from Tarija.

One Year Completed

On August 7, Elder May hit the one-year mark!!!  He can't believe it, and neither can we!  He feels like it has gone by quickly. Here are some pictures from this week:

What a CRAZY Week, New Companion--Elder Murphy

Hey Everybody!

It's been a while since I've written to you guys, and It's been SUPER crazy, which is why I haven't been writing very much. I've been in Bermejo, a little city on the border of Bolivia and Argentina. There are no wards here, only branches. I was in the Bolivar branch for 4 weeks with Elder Tyra from Las Vegas, but this morning I got emergency transferred to another branch in Bermejo...Miraflores because the other elder here who is from Ecuador has to have knee surgery, so he's going to stay with Elder Tyra for two weeks, and then go back to Santa Cruz to be with the doctors and get his surgery. I'm with Elder Murphy from Utah who has been here for the past 7 months, so he's also leaving in two weeks. I'm going to learn the area in two weeks, and then I'll get a new companion. It's pretty crazy and kinda stressful, but I have complete confidence that the Lord will help me continue with his grand work. The branches here are awesome, and we have many people preparing for baptism. One of my investigators this past Sunday gave his testimony in Fast and Testimony meeting about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. It was super spiritual, and really strengthened my testimony about the power of conversion. I hope everything is going good in your part of the world!

Multi-Zone Conference in Tarija

I was pleasantly surprised by these pictures in the middle of the week.  Elder May's new mission president's wife has started a new Facebook page where she posts pictures of conferences and other events.  This was a Multi-Zone Conference in Tarija, which was about a three-hour drive north for Elder May and his district.  They got a ride from a member who helps with long-distance drives.
